Marilyn Sherman is the USTA’s National Manager, Social Play, focused on launching a new FUN, easy and social way to play tennis. She began her tennis career as a Director of Tennis and coach in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia before serving as Director of Adult Tennis for the USTA Southern Section for 15 years. As a volunteer, she served on the board of directors for the Dallas Tennis Association while living there for 7 years as USTA remote staff before joining the national staff based at the USTA National Campus in 2015.

She is humbled by the Marilyn Sherman Spirit Award given each year by USTA Southern to an individual who demonstrates great passion and enthusiasm for growing the game and the Marilyn Sherman Scholarship given to a Dallas Tennis & Education Academy junior girl pursuing a college degree. She is also Co-Chair of USTA Advantage Out employee group for LGBTQ+ employees and allies across the US. She and her wife Susie will celebrate 25 years together this year!
