As we step into June, a time dedicated to celebrating and honoring the LGBTQ+ community, we are excited to kick off Pride Month with both enthusiasm and solidarity. Our enthusiasm is for the work that continues to be done every day and for the beautiful, amazing people who make up our community and who make the world a better place by living their lives as authentically as possible in this moment. At the same time, our solidarity is with those on the front lines in the fight for our rights to exist fully, wholly, and as ourselves, as well as with those who continue to find themselves and explore the journey of self-discovery.

This month is not just about celebrating our diverse identities but also about recognizing the progress we’ve made and the journey that lies ahead in advocating for equality and inclusion within the sports and entertainment industry. As we think back on this last year and the new names and faces we have seen living out and proud on the court and in the front office, we see progress but we also see opportunity for continued improvement for all underrepresented communities to have a seat at the table in making this an industry where all can work.

HomeField Alliance was founded with a vision to create a supportive and empowering network for LGBTQ+ professionals. At our core, we believe in the power of connection, collaboration, and community. As a catalyst for professional networking and growth, we are committed to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive authentically and proudly and that is a mission we will continue for our members above all else.

Throughout this month, we will be celebrating the experiences of our members and our board in this same mindset – enthusiasm for the strength they highlight in their career and solidarity for the resilience with which they have pushed through challenges to become leaders in their organizations.

Pride Month is ultimately a reminder of just those two things – the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a time to celebrate who we are, honor those who have paved the way, and continue pushing for a future where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. Your presence and participation make our community vibrant and strong both within HomeField and in all other ways.
