New President and Board Appointments for LGBTQ+ Professional Network HomeField Alliance
December 17, 2020:
Chicago, Ill. — HomeField Alliance, the network for LGBTQ+ business professionals working in sports and entertainment, has announced that co-founder and president Jake Lenz will step into an advisory role with the board of directors. In his place, seasoned sales executive Nicholas Cottrell (Chicago Fire FC) will serve as President, effective January 1, 2021.
Cottrell will lead the strategic direction of HomeField Alliance and be tasked with growing the organization’s reach and impact within the sports and entertainment industry.
“I’m ecstatic to have Nicholas take the reins of the organization,” Lenz said. “He has had a connection to HomeField from the very beginning and was one of the first people with whom I discussed the idea. His passion, industry experience and relentless drive to create more inclusive spaces will be a tremendous asset as HomeField continues to grow.”
“I remember immediately feeling seen and wanted to know how I could help Jake bring HomeField to life when he first shared his vision,” Cottrell said. “I am incredibly grateful and humbled to be trusted with writing the next chapter to this story as we look to create equity across our industry with new and existing partners. We will continue to build on the way Jake has led with sincerity, hope and passion to create a beacon for LGBTQ+ members of the sports and entertainment industry.”
In addition to Cottrell, Joshua Lindsey (Madison Square Garden Entertainment) will be joining the leadership team as Director of Operations. Also stepping into an advisory role with the board will be Joe Altenau (Prudential Center/New Jersey Devils) and Clay Allen (Houston Rockets), who bring years of experience and leadership to the organization.
